
Isaac A.Tolley
Edinburgh born baritone Isaac A. Tolley was engaged at Staatstheater Augsburg from 2022 to 2024, where he performed the Roles of Samuel in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera, the Bergmann in Hauke Berheide and Amy Stebbins’ Labyrinth, and created the triple role of Ben–Stan–James in Augustí Charles’ The Last Night of the World, alongside multiple cover roles.

Further stage roles include Dr. Schön (Lulu, Berg), Odysseus (Achill unter den Mädchen, Schultz), the Old King and the Butcher (Gänsemagd, ter Schiphorst), Martino (L’occasione fa il ladro, Rossini) with the Munich Radio Orchestra, and the King of Scotland (Ariodante, Handel) at the Prinzregententheater in Munich.

As a concert artist, he has performed Schubert’s Winterreise and Schwanengesang, Poulenc’s Chansons Gaillardes, Strauss’ Notturno, Fauré’s Requiem, and Schumann’s Myrten. He is particularly interested in contemporary music and new works for the stage, alongside a deep enjoyment of traditional classical repertoire.

A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, London and The Hochschule for Music and Theater Munich, he was a Dunedin Consort Young Artist in 2023–24 and a Bayreuth Scholar in 2022, awarded at the Richard Wagner Competition in Leipzig. Before training as a singer, he studied trumpet in Amsterdam and Århus.
